To everyone who presented papers last week, and to whose attended the conference as well:
We would like to thank you for making the event a great success. We were very pleased with the turnout, and even more pleased to hear that our attendees found the conference engaging and productive. Some people were taking the opportunity to indulge a passion outside their usual range of work, whereas others were enjoying the opportunity to share their research with a wider audience.
The diversity of subjects addressed was truly exciting. We found new and fascinating subjects in presentations on historical fiction, video games, musicals, detection, and poetry. Everyone seems to have found something to add to their reading list!
Below, please find the report of the Shame workshop, compiled by Kate Macdonald. This is a great recap of a very fruitful discussion, which will hopefully be useful to those who participated and just as interesting to those who did not.
We are currently working on proposals for publication, and hope to have some news to share with you on that front soon. Also, we will soon be planning next year’s conference and will post that information here as well. If you have any suggestions in the meantime, please do let us know via email at marginalisedmainstream@gmail.com.
Brittain, Emma, and Sam
Dear Brittain
Greetings! Please accept my heartiest congratulations for organizing this successful conference on very important themes. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks for accepting our abstract and giving us oppertunity to participate in the event. Though due to some problems here in Pakistan we (me and Sofia Hussain) could not travel to be among all of you but our video presentation made our presence possible there. Thank you for your good will and cooperation. We would love to contribute in your upcoming events as well.
Thanks again and best wishes
